How do Influencers Earn Money through Social Media?

How Do Influencers Make Money?

Social media is also an avenue where influencers can earn money, sometimes in ways that you do not realize. Similar to many aspects of mass media and internet there are a lot of opportunities for influencers to earn money.

They typically choose their position depending on their niche, individual abilities, the opportunities offered as well as other factors. In addition there are other alternatives that require higher levels of commitment , which an influencer may not be at all. What are the ways that influencers earn money? Let's examine the options available to monetize their influence.

Affiliate Marketing

Through Affiliate marketing, the influencers, and website owners embed special coupons or links in their blog posts. If users click on these hyperlinks or enter the coupon codes when they purchase, the influencer earns an amount of money. The most well-known program for affiliate marketing can be Amazon Associates. There's also an influencer program.

Display Advertising

The majority of us think of programs such as Google AdSense, but this program is mostly used on blogs or other sites. People who have Podcasts can incorporate sound clips to their program. In this case the ad will be like radio commercials in that it interrupts the broadcast. YouTube offers other options for advertising on display including the use of a merch display.

Sponsored Posts

Today sponsored posts are an alternative. In this scenario sponsored posts could be any type of content that is created that is commissioned.

Thus, an Instagram celebrity could create one post, a sequence of posts or a Story. Influencers can create videos, and Twitter users are known to send tweets. The product or service being promoted is usually integrated into the content in some way. Furthermore an FTC announcement should be added to comply with the law.

Photo and Video Sales

Instagram is well-known for its amazing pictures. To this end travelers, travel bloggers and other who take pictures that are frame-worthy could be able sell their photos. In this scenario it is usually prints that are available for purchase on their websites. Sometimes, you can purchase the rights to them too. The majority of videos are licensed.

Digital Courses, Subscriptions, Ebooks

Social media is brimming with experts and many have become influential in their respective fields. For this group of influential people, selling online goods is a fantastic method to earn money.

You'll see plenty of this in food, fitness and influencers in finance. For those who are fitness-oriented selling different options for training is extremely efficient, as is the offering of an annual subscription. Food bloggers can offer cookbooks of recipes and financial advisors typically market subscription-based services.

Promote Your Own Products

Certain influencers also have their own brands. Professionals are usually the ones who write books or act as consultants in offline. To them, the question of what influencers earn a living is as easy to answer as "being an influencer is part of my marketing routine." Others influencers are able to create products following they have gained influence.

Co-Create Product Lines

Also known in the context of an "influencer collab(oration)," co-creating product lines can be very profitable for certain influencers. The method is a way for an influencer to help an established brand develop or design new products.

For instance, a lot of companies that sell sporting goods will work with athletes in order to improve a product and then put their names on the product. Influencers working in the beauty field could design eyeshadow palettes or stunning lipstick cases. In general, influencers receive a share of profits.
How Much Do Influencers Make Per Post?

If we are asked how influencers earn money, we naturally be curious about how much they earn. The prices for more sophisticated ways of monetization, such as subscriptions, vary significantly, and therefore need to be left out of that we're discussing. However, there's some information on the prices paid for content sponsored by sponsors.

Price per Blog Post

With A Laptop, the cost per post for your blog should be based on the number of unique monthly visits and the domain authority.

If you're a seasoned user the term domain authority, it refers to the degree of seriousness Google as well as other engines evaluate your site. The rates offered vary from a minimum of $85 for those who has low DA and little traffic, up to $5,500 for websites that have high DA. Another option is to charge the same amount for every 1,000 unique monthly visitors.

Price per Instagram Post

Pricing Instagram posts is a little difficult. In the past I wrote a blog post about Instagram price calculators. The same info produced different results.

It's good to know that there's a guideline that's becoming more and more popular. For every 1,000 followers an influencer is following, you must pay them $10 per post. Remember, when you're creating an Story or series of post, the number must be up in order to show this.

Price per YouTube Video

On YouTube the influencers often have to perform lots of work in order in order to make the video. Writing, shooting and editing takes lots of time. That's why my recommendation is a minimum of $20 for every 1,000 subscribers. But, with exclusivity agreements and other considerations, it is possible to charge more.

Price per Podcast Episode

According to longtime host and close friend John Lee Dumas from Entrepreneurs on Fire (JLD from EOF) the podcast industry follows a clearly defined cost structure to sponsor. In essence the price is determined per 1000 listeners (CPM) as well as the length the commercial runs and the location it is included in the show.
  • For a preroll of 15 seconds you can expect to pay $18 per 1000 listens. These are played prior to any main material.
  • 60 second midrolls cost $25 for 1,000 listens. Midrolls occur at the center of the program.
  • Then, a postroll of 30 seconds will cost you $10 for 1,000.
