Talks between Russia and the USA on Ukraine Pentagon says it has resolved no "acute issues

Ukraine War:

1. An American defense official lowered expectations that any progress would be made in the war situation other than the reopening a critical line of communication between the US and Russia.

Washington: US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin urged a immediate Ceasefire For Ukraine in talks with Sergei Shoigu, the Pentagon reported. The two sides spoke for the first time since February 18th, six days after Russia invaded Ukraine. 

The Pentagon claimed that Austin called for an immediate ceasefire, and that Austin did not request any changes in US policy towards the war. However, a senior US defense official stated that Scholz called for a ceasefire to resolve current international security issues. The Pentagon claims that Russia is still weeks behind the goals.



2. No Russia Regime Change Strategy: US after Biden's Comment on Putin

After President Joe Biden stated that Russian President Vladimir Putin could not remain in power, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken informed reporters that the United States does not have a strategy for regime change in Russia. He said this during a visit in Jerusalem.

3. Biden diverts attention from US Chemical and Biological Weapons Programme

After Joe Biden suggested that Russia could use chemical and biological weapon programs in his country, the Kremlin accused Joe Biden of trying to distract attention.

This week, the Russian defense ministry accused Hunter Biden of funding chemical weapons labs in Ukraine via his investment fund Rosemont Seneca.
